Orcinus visited on 13th Sep 2021 - their rating: Cond: 3 Access: 4 I parked in a big layby on the next corner to the footpath and the nice farmer directed me to the stones. There are about three stone wall stiles that involve a bit of a climb. Then the stones just pop out at you on the left, and are pretty impressive. It seems to me that this is only part of a monument- I suspect there were originally more stones in the adjacent field, which is now at a much lower level, the possible stone circle having been truncated by the later stone wall and half removed/ploughed out. One of the stones is distinctly 'bent' in profile and has quite a male presence. It has quartz veins running through it which seemed to me to be significant. Really pleased that I made the effort to see this-even though I was chased out the last field by a herd of bullocks!

Llanfechell 1 submitted by Orcinus : View of the stones on a cloudy drizzly day (Vote or comment on this photo)
Three approximately 1.8m (6 feet) tall and very impressive stones. Lichen and bird poo abound. With commanding views of North-West Anglesey, on a sunny day this would no doubt be a great spot.

Access: Turning left onto the road towards the A5025, just south of Cemaes, having come through Llanfechell village. We parked up on this (initially!) broad residential lane, then down a marked footpath on the right. Over a stile, down a very pot-holey field, through a gate (this bit was like a mud bath when we visited), then up hill to another visible stile.

The three stones should be visible by now.

Llanfechell 1 submitted by guile : I came upon these stones with a start, as they do resemble people talking. I then spotted an upright stone and pile of rocks to the N.W. of these three. That stone turned out to be a cattle rubbing post and some field clearances in a small enclosure. i was trapped in this enclosure then chased for my life from the field by by three feisty heifers - genius loci??? ;-) (1 comment - Vote or comment on this photo)

Llanfechell 1 submitted by MarionBenham : We didn't have any trouble walking the short distance through the fields to these stones, impressive as they came into view silhouetted on the top of the hill. In this pic you can just see a pentacle someone has carved into the surface on the nearest stone. (1 comment)

Described on Coflein as a 'Triad of Standing Stones' - how very Welsh!

I agree with postman : to me, this monument is called Mein Hirion. Llanfechell is the name of the nearby village.
And, without trying to split the hair, the very exact position (why not being exact) is : 53.396585, -4.462026 (you clearly see the 3 menhirs on Google Maps or equivalent).
