This doesnt look like a cup and ring carving to me ...its a seven fold spiral...representing the seven fold path of enlightenment.

A cup and ring carving is exactly what it says ...a single ring with a deep depresion within it ...the cup; and very often with a single line coming off the ring. They are usualy dated to the late neolithic and early bronze age.2200bc-1500bc.
